Overfly Sports Acquires Powerbull
El Paso Facility

EL PASO, TEXAS – Powerbull Bat Co. announced today that its bat manufacturing operation in El Paso, Texas has been acquired by Overfly Sports.  Overfly Sports, a baseball bat manufacturer based in Los Mochis, Mexico, has manufactured bats for professional and youth baseball players around the world since 2016. The sale of Powerbull Bat Company’s El Paso operation will be effective January 1, 2023.

“We are excited to join the Overfly Sports family,” said Kurt Gross, co-owner of Powerbull Bat Co. “We are very proud of the reputation we built since opening the El Paso operation in 2018. Now, by joining the Overfly family, we further connect with Mexico and the global baseball market.”

The company believes having manufacturing facilities on both sides of the US/Mexico border is a distinct advantage. “By having operations on both sides of the border, we will be able to more efficiently serve professional players and provide them with the quality bats they have come to expect from us,” said Gross.

Financial details of the sale were not released. Overfly Sports has plans to expand the El Paso facility in the near future and is considering opening a larger retail outlet in the coming years.

“We’ve watched Powerbull Bats grow over that last few years ever since they moved to the United States,” said Alex Villarreal, President of Overfly Sports. “We have always respected the Powerbull team and their bats, so when we started talking about aligning with them, things just fell naturally into place. We’re excited about our growing the Overfly brand in the United States and El Paso is the perfect home.”
